The International Society of Geriatric Oncology, in a strategic partnership with either ecancer/Medscape, have collaborated to develop a series of online educational activities specifically addressing the special considerations that apply to geriatric oncology.

These free, continuing education activities aim to identify patient- and disease-related factors in the course of treatments, and share expert perspectives about strategies and tools for providing optimal care for older patients with cancer.

Lora Rhodes, LCSW
Lora is a senior social worker at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. She received her BS in psychology from Penn State University and MSW from Rutgers University. In her current role, she provides psychosocial support in the multidisciplinary senior adult oncology, head and neck cancer, and cancer genetics clinics, and is a member of the lung and head and neck cancer clinical teams.  Prior to her current position, she worked in continuing medical education, developing education programs for physicians, nurses, and social workers. A social worker for over 25 years, she has presented extensively, both locally and nationally, on psychosocial issues facing individuals with cancer.

Dr Ginah Nightingale
Dr. Ginah Nightingale is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the Jefferson College of Pharmacy, Thomas Jefferson University, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (US). Dr. Nightingale teaches on medication safety and medication errors, oncology pharmacotherapy, and oncology pharmacology among other topics. She also precepts multi-level student pharmacists and pharmacy residents on experiential rotations. Dr. Nightingale currently serves on committees within the college including Faculty Affairs and has served as the Chair of Jefferson College of Pharmacy Curriculum Committee.

Dr. Nightingale’s is an Advanced Practice Pharmacist in Medical Oncology at the National Cancer Institute-designated Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson. She practices at the Senior Adult Oncology Center where her clinical duties include providing medication therapy management services, medication adherence counseling, and medication education to older adults with cancer.

This webinar is a program of SIOG’s Educational Activities, an educational division focused on strengthening the healthcare workforce for older patients with cancer.
