| Dr. Arti Hurria is a geriatrician and oncologist, focusing on care of the older patient with cancer. She completed a geriatric fellowship in the Harvard Geriatric Fellowship Program, followed by a hematology-oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC). She subsequently joined the faculty at MSKCC, where she served as co-Principal Investigator on the institutional NIH P20 grant “Development of an Aging and Cancer Center at MSKCC.” In the fall of 2006, Dr. Hurria joined the City of Hope as Director of the Cancer and Aging Research Program. Dr. Hurria is a recipient of the Paul Beeson Career Development Award in Aging Research (K23 AG026749-01) and American Society of Clinical Oncology-Association of Specialty Professors-Junior Development Award in Geriatric Oncology. She is chair of the NCCN Senior Adult Oncology Panel, Editor-in Chief of the Journal of Geriatric Oncology, and vice co-chair of the Alliance Cancer in the Elderly Committee. Dr. Hurria serves as PI on a U13 grant in collaboration with the NIA and NCI to identify and develop research methodology that will lead evidence based recommendations to improve clinical care for older adults with cancer. She also serves as PI on an R01 funded grant evaluating clinical and biological predictors of chemotherapy toxicity in older adults with breast cancer. These grants are executed in collaboration with members from the Cancer and Aging Research Group, which Dr. Hurria founded and leads. | President-Elect

| Etienne GC Brain, MD PhD, has been working since 1998 as a medical oncologist at the Hôpital René Huguenin (Saint-Cloud, France), which is now part of the academic centre Institut Curie. He obtained both his MD and PhD from University Paris V René Descartes, the latter after leading works in preclinical and clinical pharmacology on alkylating agents and liver metabolism in Boston (Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Boston University) and Saint Cloud (Centre René Huguenin). He was the Deputy Director for Research at Centre René Huguenin from 2008-2009, until the merge with Institut Curie happened in 2010. This latter has made the “multisites institution” Institut Curie one of the largest hospital dedicated to cancer management in Europe, with special focus on breast cancer (~ 3,000 new cases yearly), employing 2,000 care-givers and 1,000 researchers. Etienne Brain is currently in charge of the settlement of the new Department of Clinical Research of Institut Curie in Saint-Cloud. | Riccardo A. Audisio trained in surgical oncology at the National Cancer Institute, Milan. In 1994 he was deputy director of the Department of General Surgery at the European Institute of Oncology. He moved to the United Kingdom in 1999 to become Consultant Surgical Oncologist and Honorary Professor at the University of Liverpool. He is Editor-in-Chief of Surgical Oncology, Elsevier Publisher. Author of numerous scientific articles, book chapters and editor of book projects he is guest reviewer for 37 peer-reviewed international journals. Prof. Audisio’s clinical research focuses on Breast Cancer and Geriatric Oncology; President of SIOG, he also chairs the Surgical Task Force and enjoys organising international courses and meetings on these topics. | Treasurer

I have been an active participant in a number of research organizations, including the Cancer and Leukemia Group B (CALGB) Committee on Pharmacology & Experimental Therapeutics and their Committee on Cancer in the Elderly; the Scientific Advisory Board of the Geriatric Oncology Consortium; the International Society of Geriatric Oncology (SIOG) and its Taskforces on Geriatric Assessment, Renal Dysfunction, Chemotherapy and Gynecologic Oncology and currently on the Board of Directors; and the Elderly Taskforce of the Gynecologic Oncology Group. I was on the Program Committee for the 2005 and 2006 meetings of American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and led the Patient Care Tract and have been reappointed for 2012-2014 as well as the ASCO Special Interest Group in Geriatric Oncology. In 2008 and 2010 I was a faculty member of the ASCO Educational Session devoted to the pharmacology of chemotherapy and assessment in older patients. I have been a faculty member for the Vail ASCO/AACR Clinical Trials Workshop (2004-2009) and was the Scientific Chair of the 11th International Society of Geriatric Oncology (SIOG) meeting in 2011. | Dr. Matti Aapro, dean of the Multidisciplinary Oncology Institute, Genolier, Switzerland, previously chaired the Medical and Radiation Department, European Institute of Oncology, Milano. He is the Executive Director of the International Society for Geriatric Oncology (SIOG). He was a Board member of EORTC. He is Past-president of MASCC, as well as on its Board of Directors for 2012-2014. He chaired the scientific and organizing committees of UICC’s World Cancer Congresses 2008 in Geneva, and 2010 in Shenzhen (China). He coordinates the SPCC programme of the European School of Oncology. He is Editor-in-Chief of Critical Reviews in Oncology/Hematology, Associate Editor for Annals of Oncology and the geriatric section of the Oncologist and founding member of the Journal of Geriatric Oncology (JGO). His major interests are new drug development, breast cancer, supportive care, and cancer in the elderly. Dr. Aapro has received the 2012 ASCO B.J. | Supriya Gupta Mohile, M.D., M.S. is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the James Wilmot Cancer Center at the University of Rochester. She is Director of the Geriatric Oncology Clinic. She is a board-certified geriatrician and oncologist with clinical expertise in treating patients with genitourinary and gastrointestinal cancers. A graduate of Pennsylvania State University, she earned her M.D. at Thomas Jefferson Medical School. She completed internship, residency and fellowships in hematology/oncology and geriatrics at University of Chicago Medical Center, where she also earned a master's degree in health outcomes research. Mohile's fellowship was funded by an American Society of Clinical Oncology and John Hartford Foundation initiative to train oncologists in the care of the elderly. Mohile's research interests include the evaluation of patterns of care, health outcomes, and quality of life related to treatment for systemic cancer in older patients. She has previously received an American Society of Clinical Oncology Young Investigator Award and Merit Awards. Her current work examines the relationship between disability and decision-making for older adults with cancer and also utilizes large population-based databases to evaluate the relationship between vulnerability and cancer outcomes in the elderly. She is working also to develop clinical trials for older adults with cancer and to identify interventions to reduce treatment morbidity. Mohile was a Hartford Geriatrics Health Outcomes Research Scholar sponsored by the American Geriatrics Society and is a Clinical and Translational Science Institute K-12 Awardee. |

He graduated from the Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing and a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology in 2001. He began working as an oncology nurse in 2001. He completed his Master of Science degree as a family nurse practitioner in 2005, also from the Ohio State University. As a nurse practitioner, Aaron has worked with the thoracic surgery patient population focusing on lung and esophageal cancer patients. His areas of interest include nursing outcomes for elderly oncology patients, multidiciplinary team function, and advanced practice nursing role development and education. Recent publications include "Retrospective Study of Multidisciplinary Rounding on a Thoracic Surgical Oncology Unit" in the Clinical Journal of Oncology Nursing, December 2012. |
