LifeChamps is an EU H2020 Research & Innovation Programme. It aims at shifting the discrimination barrier for older cancer patients and improving their QoL after treatment through the integration of different clinical and digital tools such as PROMs, PREMs, symptomatic and geriatric measures, mHealth and wearables, machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms for Big Data. LifeChamps is currently developing a novel, sophisticated, and multifaceted clinical decision support tool for a comprehensive geriatric assessment. By doing so, LifeChamps aims at including geriatric cancer patients as active members of the integrated care model since care team coordination is feasible through the combination of cancer symptom self-report and frailty modelling. Additionally, LifeChamps aims to expand the current base of knowledge for the healthcare support of older people with cancer and create a digital intervention reflecting the suggested best practices in geriatric oncology.

Participate in an online survey of LifeChamps

The survey aims at understanding the needs of healthcare professionals who treat and follow-up older cancer patients, especially in terms of Quality of Life. In addition, we are looking into the role technology and AI may play in the better monitoring and self-management of older cancer survivors. You may access the survey in afour (4) languages :

Event

On February 23-24, the “Cancer Survivorship – AI for Well-being” (#CS_AIW) Cluster, the liaison initiative in which our LifeChamps H2020 Project participates, along with eight more projects from the cancer and AI research and innovation fields,  held its 4th Meet-Up event. The event, entitled “How can new technologies better support patients?”, was online and spanned over two days, bringing for the first time in the Cluster’s lifecycle, researchers, policymakers, patients, clinicians, and experts in-field together to discuss & exchange know-how and experiences, regarding the challenges and benefits that emerging technological solutions could have to cancer patients/cancer survivors’ enhancement of their everyday living.
Special thematic sessions, round tables with the active participation of cancer patients and experts, keynotes from high-level invited speakers and Q&A live sessions took place in the two days of the event.
